Things to Do in Nashville in 2026

Planning an outdoor day in Music City? Here are quick answers to the questions we hear most about ziplining and outdoor adventures near Nashville.

What are the best outdoor things to do in Nashville?+

Nashville pairs its music scene with a lot of green space. Popular outdoor options include hiking at Radnor Lake State Natural Area, the trails of Percy and Edwin Warner Parks, and the paved greenways along the Cumberland River. For a bigger adrenaline rush, Adventureworks runs two zipline parks in the Nashville area — the Big Adventure canopy tour at Nashville West and the Express Zip at Fontanel.

Where can you go ziplining in Nashville?+

Adventureworks operates two zipline parks in the Nashville area. Nashville West, in Harpeth River State Park near Kingston Springs, runs the Big Adventure tour — 10 zips across 9 lines through old-growth forest, about a 40-minute drive from downtown. Fontanel, at the historic Fontanel Mansion on Whites Creek Pike just north of downtown, runs the Express Zip — 6 ziplines in about an hour.

What are fun things to do outside in Nashville with kids?+

Families in Nashville have plenty of outdoor choices, from the easy lake loop at Radnor Lake to the playgrounds and trails of the Warner Parks and Centennial Park. For an adventure the whole family will remember, Adventureworks' ziplines are recommended for ages 6 and up. Fontanel offers a shorter, beginner-friendly Express Zip, while Nashville West adds a longer Big Adventure tour plus an aerial obstacle course.

How much does ziplining cost in Nashville?+

At Fontanel, the Express Zip is $59.90 for adults and $49.90 for youth (17 and under) — 6 ziplines in about 1 hour at 4225 Whites Creek Pike. At Nashville West, the Big Adventure zipline tour is $65.90 for adults and $49.90 for youth, and you can add the aerial adventure course for a combined Zip + Aerial package of $80. Group discounts are available for larger parties — contact the office for details.

What outdoor activities are near downtown Nashville?+

Close to downtown Nashville you'll find Centennial Park, the Cumberland River greenway, and Shelby Bottoms Nature Center for walking and biking. For something more thrilling, Fontanel sits just north of downtown at the Fontanel Mansion on Whites Creek Pike, where the Express Zip sends you through the treetops on 6 ziplines in about an hour.

Is Adventureworks open in 2026?+

Yes. Adventureworks Nashville West is open year-round with its Big Adventure zipline tour and aerial adventure course. Fontanel is now open at the historic Fontanel Mansion with the new Express Zip tour, so both Nashville-area parks are running for the 2026 season.

What is the best zipline tour near Nashville for first-timers?+

Both Adventureworks parks are guided and beginner-friendly. First-timers who want a shorter outing close to downtown often choose the Express Zip at Fontanel — 6 ziplines in about an hour. Those who want the fullest experience pick the Big Adventure tour at Nashville West, with 10 zips through old-growth forest and an optional aerial adventure course.

Where are the Nashville zipline parks and what are their hours?+

Fontanel is at 4225 Whites Creek Pike, Whites Creek, TN 37189, at the historic Fontanel Mansion just north of downtown Nashville. It is open daily from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the first Express Zip tour at 10:00 am and the last tour starting at 4:00 pm. Nashville West is at 1300 Narrows of the Harpeth Rd, Kingston Springs, TN 37082, in Harpeth River State Park, about a 40-minute drive from downtown. Reservations are recommended at both parks because tours often sell out. At Fontanel, walk-ups are accepted when space is available. At Nashville West, Friday through Sunday walk-ups are accepted when space is available, and Monday through Thursday is by reservation only — book online in advance.

Can you do corporate team building at the Nashville zipline parks?+

Team building takes place at Adventureworks Nashville West, in Harpeth River State Park near Kingston Springs. Adventureworks has run experience-based corporate team building since 1987, and a Nashville West event can combine the Big Adventure zipline tour and the aerial adventure course with structured programs such as the Great Rescue Adventure survival simulation (2.5 hours, up to 25 people, $95 per person) or the Corporate Challenge (60 minutes, 20–200 people, $85 per person). The Music City Challenge urban scavenger hunt ($45 per person, up to 200) launches from a downtown Nashville venue instead. Request a proposal on our team building page.

Is there anything to do near the Nashville parks besides ziplining?+

Plenty, and the two parks are very different. Fontanel sits on the 200-acre grounds of the historic Fontanel Mansion in Whites Creek — the former home of country star Barbara Mandrell, open for guided mansion tours — alongside Prichard's Distillery, the Natchez Hills Winery tasting room, Café Fontanella, walking trails, and the Woods Amphitheater concert venue. Our Zip & Sip package ($84.95) pairs the Express Zip with a craft spirits tasting. Nashville West is inside Harpeth River State Park at the Narrows of the Harpeth, where you can hike the bluff trail to the overlook, walk through the historic Montgomery Bell Tunnel, and put in a canoe or kayak on the Harpeth River — and the park also has an aerial adventure course alongside the Big Adventure zipline tour.
