The Fontanel Mansion

Just 15 minutes north of downtown Nashville, tucked into the Tennessee hills, sits Fontanel Mansion — a 27,000-square-foot log home with nearly 40 years of Music City stories.

Built for a Legend. Country superstar Barbara Mandrell built it in 1988 as a safe haven for her family, naming it after a baby’s soft spot. At the time, it was the largest log home in the U.S. — with 13 bathrooms, 5 fireplaces, 2 kitchens, and an indoor pool that converts to a dance floor.

Stories in the Walls. Guests like Oprah, Jackie Kennedy, and Bob Hope have walked its halls. Legend has it that Hank Williams Jr. and Kid Rock left bullet holes in the indoor shooting range after a wild party — and they’re still visible today.

A Grand Revival. After years of vacancy, the mansion was restored and reopened in 2022. Today, it hosts weddings, events, and a Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea (Fridays–Sundays, reservations required). Think formal tea service, tiered trays with scones and petits fours, and Bridgerton vibes!
